International pyramid uses a large playing field, tight pockets, fifteen numbered white balls and a coloured cue ball. The discipline decides how the cue ball may be selected and how scores are recorded.

Legal contact

The cue ball must contact an object ball, directly or off a cushion. Pocketed balls, balls leaving the table and a missed contact are covered by separate rule clauses.

For competition, use the current IPC/WPA PDF rather than a house-rule summary; break procedure and foul penalties are format-specific.
