A jump cue has a short or specially balanced butt to lift the cue ball in a controlled jump. It is not a replacement for a playing cue and is legal only where the rules permit jump shots.
What to compare
Check weight, length, tip diameter and joint type. A hard tip transfers energy efficiently but demands precise contact. Confirm that the cue fits your case.
Practise safely
Raise the butt, keep your bridge hand clear of the path and practise on clean cloth. Start with short jumps over one ball rather than maximum height.
Check the game rules and test the cue on the table where you will play before buying.
