A club pool table must keep its geometry under daily play, deliver a consistent rebound and remain serviceable. Start with the playing format and workload, then evaluate finishes and styling.

Size and room planning

Decide whether the room needs tournament 9-foot tables, more compact 8-foot models, or a mix. Check the playing-field dimensions against WPA equipment guidance, then add the full table footprint and cue-swing clearance. Tight walkways quickly lead to cue marks and unhappy customers.

Slate, frame and adjustment

For commercial use, a slate bed, rigid frame and precise leg levellers are sensible defaults. Three-piece slate is easier to move through difficult access routes, but it must be assembled and levelled by a qualified installer. Confirm that rails, pockets and fasteners are available for the exact model.

Cloth and ongoing service

Speed depends on cloth construction, tension and cleanliness. Include brushing or vacuuming, level checks and periodic recovering in the operating budget. Ask for the cloth specification, cushion profile and warranty terms rather than relying on a brand name alone.

Buying checklist

Compare the landed total: table, delivery, installation, lighting, cues, balls and spare parts. Put installation timing and transport-damage procedures in writing. Matching tables simplify staff training and reduce the number of spare-part variants kept on site.

Before paying, confirm the delivery route, power for lighting and whether the floor can be re-levelled after settling.
