Stop play, remove the balls and blot a spill with a clean white cloth. Do not rub or add water unless the maker allows it; moisture can leave a halo and alter tension.
Use the appropriate brush for chalk dust. Solvents, bleach and steam can damage colour and nap. Have deep damage assessed before deciding on re-clothing.
