Yellowing may be surface residue from dust, chalk, oils or an unsuitable product. It can also reflect material ageing and light exposure. First see whether proper cleaning changes the mark.
Use a compatible cleaner and microfiber as directed by the maker. A dull finish, micro-cracks or lost roundness will not be restored by aggressive polishing. For a used set, even condition matters more than one glossy ball.
